AG Hohloch

Carbenes, Phosphines & Catalysis

Welcome to the Hohloch Research Group

Current research in our group targets the synthesis of functional and catalytically active transition metal and lanthanide complexes using N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) as well as chelating anilidophosphine ligands. Our aim is to connect the structural and spectroscopic features of the newly designed molecules with their reactivity. This allows us to understand the underlying features influencing the chemistry of new materials and thus to design new complexes with tailor made reactivities.

Currently our work focusses on the development of new high-valent molybdenum complexes with N-heterocyclic carbene ligands (NHCs) for selective deoxygenation catalysis and nitrogen activation processes as well as on the development of new lanthanide complexes for hydrofunctionalization catalysis.

We are always searching for highly motivated students who are excited about working in catalysis and organometallic chemistry. If you are interested in joinging our group, please contact Prof. Hohloch.
